This is a review of Nioxin system one, for fine, untreated, normal to thin looking hair. There are a total of eight Nioxin “systems” to chose from. Each system caters for a different hair type, ranging from thin or very fine hair to thick coarse hair. Each Nioxin product can be bought separately, however it is recommended that you buy them as a kit. The system one kit contains shampoo, scalp treatment and a scalp therapy cream.
If you decide to buy Nioxin I definitely recommend that you buy it as a kit, once you have decided which system is right for your hair type. The system works best when you use all three products and it can be expensive to buy them separately. The best value can be found online and it can also be difficult to find anything past system 4 in stores or salons. However system 1 does seem to be widely available.
When you first use the shampoo and conditioner (scalp treatment) there is a pleasant aroma and a great feeling of deep cleansing and nourishment. The feeling of cleanliness is far superior to any cheaper non branded products. However it doe not necessarily feel like it is doing anything special on the surface. The scalp treatment does produce a tingling sensation however. This is the natural ingredients and vitamins nourishing your scalp. The tingling sensation will go away gradually when you dry you hair. Next you apply the scalp therapy cream, which you spray on and comb through evenly. This produces an even stronger sensation that can be likened to a sort of burning sensation. It is not that bad but I would try to avoid spaying it on your forehead. It can produce a bit of a redness that can take a few minutes to go completely.
Many people have reported great results from using Nioxin, however it is not really a cure for hair loss. It will help nourish your scalp and produce healthy, clean hair though. For the best results I would use this is addition to other products.
